Golf shots: Junior tour; Beechwood results; Men’s tour
R.J. Derhodge capped off a stellar season by winning the final stop on the Niagara District Junior Golf Tour at Beechwood.
The 17-year-old Niagara Falls resident earned his fourth tour victory of the summer as he fired a 73 to take top spot in the boys U19 division.
Charlie Jeffries and Ethan Siebert tied for second at 76.
Ben MacLean fired a 69 to win the boys U15 division while Michael Martel’s 84 was good enough to place first in the boys U13 division.
Sukriti Harjai had the best round of the day, firing a 70 to place first in the girls division.
Sasha Baker and Susan Leone tied for second at 77.

MEN’S TOUR
Logan Lammerant of Cardinal Lakes fired a three-under par 69 to capture top spot on the Niagara Men’s Tour Sunday at Whirlpool.
Jeffry Janz and Chris Hallborg, both of Rockway, tied for second at 70. Peter Leone of Grand Niagara, Bernie Bodogh of St. Catharines Golf and Country Club and James Grigjanas-Muesel of Niagara-on-the-Lake all tied for third at 72. Mark Wiebe (public player), Jordan Lake pPublic player) and Derek Kurelo of Rockway all tied for seventh at 73. Cody Watson of Rockway and Kham Vong of Lookout rounded out the top 10 at 74.
The tour wraps up Sept. 9 at Cherry Hill.
